Back in the mid-90's, before there were pre-painted PVC statues, the best way to get all of your favorite Japanese and anime character for your collection or shelf was to buy a vinyl or resin model kit.
The vinyl ones were affordable, but the resin ones tended to be larger, more intricate and much more expensive.
At the height of the manga and anime series Ah! My Goddess by Kosuke Fujishima, there were several of these kind of model kits released. Many were rare. Among the rarest was a "garage kit" created from one of Fujishima's drawings featuring Belldandy in her human and holy forms. I had always wanted that model kit, but it was just impossible to get at the time as there was no e-bay or place to order Japanese items from. (All you could do was hope that one of the dealers at a local toy show had cool Japanese stuff to choose from.)
But now, all these years later, Max Factory is re-creating that rare garage kit as a pre-painted vinyl statue!!!
Of course, it ain't gonna be cheap. Expect it to run about Y19,800 (approx $200.00), but there is no way I'm letting this beautiful piece get away from me this time!
