TOY NEWS FOR 7/8/2013 - BANDAI - SUPER ROBOT CHOGOKIN - MAZINGER Z - JUMBO MACHINDER EDITION (EXCLUSIVE)

This is a dream come true and nightmare all in one...

When I first saw these pics, my jaw dropped. A Super Robot Chogokin styled after the classic 70's Jumbo Machinder Mazinger!?! I WANT!!!!!

So, of course, I went about trying to find out all the info I could on this piece, and the sad news that I discovered I will now pass along to you...

This amazingly awesome figure was offered as the 4th Annual exclusive for the Go Nagi Museum in Japan-- much like the almost as awesome Devilman Version of Mazinger that was offered last year.

So, can you buy this figure, too? Yes... Yes, you can. The Yen price in Japan was around $50, but since you'll have to get this through a 3rd party, the current e-bay price is $200 plus shipping.

(UPDATE: Just got it for $100!! On its way to me now!! Can't wait!!)

For a hard-core Mazinger (and Jumbo Machinder) nut like me, this is still a highly tempting piece-- even at that price. But with so much other high-priced stuff coming this year (like the Hot Toys Hulk, Chogokin Danguard Ace, Takara Masterpiece TF's and, finally, the Castle Grayskull Playset) this is gonna be a hard one to squeeze out the money for. Especially since it is, in reality, just a little 5" figure.

If this was possible to get at around $100, I'd pull the trigger on it, no doubt. But at $200, that might be a little too much just for some awesome nostalgia...
