TOY NEWS FOR 11/20/2013 - FUNKO - THUNDERCATS - POP! VINYL FIGURINES

There are a handful of toy/cartoon series that are deserving of a modern toy line that just haven't seen their due. At the top of that list has to be the Thundercats.

As a kid, I found myself really disappointed with the original LJN line when compared with the awesomeness of the cartoon designs, so I wouldn't say that original toy line was even that great.

In recent years, I had reservedly high hopes for Bandai's Classic T-Cats line and they actually did a decent/good job when they scaled the figures down in the second series with Lion-O and Mum-Ra, but sadly, that was all we ever got to see.

Currently, the property seems to be back in limbo with no company willing to touch it again any time soon.

The only high point at the moment are Mezco's 14" figures, which look about as good as you're want T-Cats figures to look, but they lack any real articulation, making the more like over-sized plastic statues than proper action figures.

While Funko's new Pop! Vinyl line isn't exactly what true Thundercats fans are chomping at the bit for, we'll certainly take what we can get at this point.

Look for them to start hitting store the week of December 17th.
