Now here's an Iron Man figure I can finally get behind!
Not to mention that the announcement of this new Iron Man from Age of Ultron comes as a pretty big surprise as Hot Toys usually wait much closer to the release of a film before officially unveiling any figures from the movie.
But, here he is-- Iron Man Mk XLIII (43).
Even after all of these various Iron Man armors, I still think it's difficult to surpass the simplicity of the brilliant and imposing original Mk III design. But, I'm glad they finally put more red than yellow back into his armor.
As I was going over all the "main" characters from the upcoming Avengers AoU, there are no less than 11 characters that will definitely get figures from Hot Toys, so I guess it's good that they're starting this line a little earlier than expected. At least this way we [hopefully] won't have to wait until 2017 before they're all released.
One thing you should take note of with this new figure is the beautiful base he includes. I don't know if all of the Avengers figure will include similar bases, but I certainly hope so!
The "exclusive" version will include a battle-damaged helmet.
Iron Man is up for pre-order now and is priced at $344.99 with a release date of August. (Yeah.... sure.)
