TOY NEWS FOR 2/4/2016 - MEZCO - PRE-TOY FAIR PREVIEW - ONE:12 COLLECTIVE

When they first started out, Mezco was awesome and full of potential. But over the years, they seemed to abandon the action figure market with fewer and fewer offerings and, what they did offer (like their disappointing Breaking Bad NON-figures) was only a mere shadow of what they were once capable of (like the brilliantly executed Hellboy figures).

But, now they have returned to throw their hat action figure ring once again and they're looking to be an ever bigger juggernaut than what they once were!

With the release of last year's first One:12 Collective figure-- Batman from Frank Killer's Dark Knight-- they showed they were serious about delivering a new kind of collector's figure. And while I haven't seen it in person yet, they just released their second figure in the line, Judge Dredd, which, I think, looks even better than their first figure.

All of that pales in comparison to what they have planned for 2016...

Just look at all this amazing goodness!

Not only do they have the DC Comics license (and others like Judge Dredd, Universal Monsters and Star Trek-- all of which, if you've been keeping up-- we've already known about) but they also have the Marvel Comics license to produce One:12 Collective figures!

With all of these awesome figures, it's like the days of Mego all over again, except this time in a high end collector's line.

That's right, you can put your Captain America right next to your Superman and they'll both be done in the same style!

So, let's get down to it and take a look at what Mezco has planned for us this year.

All should retail for $75 each. As you can see from the pics, like the Batman Dark Knight and Judge Dredd figures, there will be multiple versions of each figure. Presumably, one will be the regular release with others being exclusive versions.

I wish Mezco all the success in the world with this line. I'd love to see it continue far into the future as I can only imagine that the offerings will only continue to grow as time goes on. Also, a line like this really lends itself to a lot of amazing licenses. I'm already working on my mental wish list!
